DAY 2: This WEEK in History

Because late April has historically been a tragic time in American history, I wanted to highlight a number of events that have taken place on April 19 and 20 that are very significant. Although there are other events that have happened on these days that are more positive, I'd like you to focus on the negative for this Journal Entry. The next piece of writing is going to be a cause and effect essay, so you will be writing about what caused a particular event and then the immediate and long term effects that it had on the American people.

The following videos are from April 19 and 20. Please ignore any events that seem to be positive. Again, I want you to focus on the negative events that have taken place on these days and then chose one of them. Once you chose an event, write a 250-500 word Journal Entry that discusses the causes and effects that surround this incident. You may conduct additional research to help you with the Journal Entry.
