Some people may downplay the impact that art has on the world today. It may seem like a fringe interest the very few individuals are affected by on a daily basis. Obviously, this is up for debate, but their are certainly some compeling arguments that show just how powerful art can be in the modern world. For example, Pablo Picasso's painting Guernica may seem like a typical cubist painting at first glance; however, once you learn the story behind the painting, one can begin to understand the significances of this magnificant work.

After reading this article and observing the painting very carefully, begin to interpret and come to your own conclusions about what is going on in the painting. Explain what is being represented, symbolized, exagerrated, etc. Then explain how it relates to the event that took place in Guernica, Spain in the 1930s. 250-500 word minimum.
